We have some special "Thank Yous" to extend to all of the people who made the event so much fun at Wofford Acres Vineyards. First and foremost we could not have done it without the many people who bought tickets to the Wine Fest. We thank you for driving back here to try us out- the positive response was overwhelming. Second of all, kudos to the five other Apple Hill wineries who worked so hard to ensure that the day was as wonderful as it could be- and "thank you" to them for welcoming WAV into the Apple Hill Wineries family.
Six family members who volunteered their time (actually, they graciously allowed us to shanghai them into duty) were Paul and Mike's sister Pam, who broiled in the sun both days "meeting and greeting", distributing glasses and winery maps. Pam was ably assisted by Ann's niece Emma, who stamped the maps (and herself!) , and charmed the guests with her four-year-old smile. Emma's dad Chris, and cellar rats David and Andy lugged cases of wine out to vehicles, made sure everyone had a parking spot and spent the days prior to the Wine Fest getting WAV ship-shape. And Ann's sister Allison gave WAV a much needed landscaping facelift right before the Wine Fest.
We had professional help as well. We couldn't have been so popular with the guests without Paul, Jerod and Joe of John and Debbie Sanders Old Town Grill in Placerville. Their food and wine
match-ups were right on and absolutely delicious. They will ALWAYS be the caterer for WAV events- we couldn't do better! And the musical entertainment... We are so lucky Mike's friend include such talented people! Saturday Keith Duran played acoustical guitar favorites (Jim Croce under the trees!) and Sunday three members of the jazz group
MercyMe! kept the canyon rocking!
The food and music really helped us to hold our own in the distinguished collection of Apple Hill wineries!
